"My involvement with GIL spanned 9 years from 2007 to 2016 as CEO of Akcros Chemicals. From the initial set-up through the recession of 2008/9 GIL were very supportive of the management team in executing investments to improve our technology base and manufacturing capability in a difficult environment. The company thrived thereafter to build a stronger financial position from which to launch acquisitions in 2013, 2014 and 2015. GIL’s approach of guiding the Board while allowing time and space for the management team to develop the business was as enlightening as it was energising.
